Hisotry of our brockway

This truck was built in Cortland, N. Y. in June of 1924. It was subsequently sold to H.A. Dehart and Son, a Brockway dealer in Thorofare, N.J. This dealer is sill in business today. The truck was delivered to DeHart as a cab and chassis. Then DeHart would build the cargo portion to suit the customer’s requirements.

The truck was then purchased by Mr. George Nichol for delivery after January 1 1925.Mr. Nichol was a farmer from Mullica Hill, NJ. He owned the truck until 1946 when he passed away. To settle the estate his wife sold the truck to Harold Nichol on March 19th of 1946. Then on August 7th 1946 Mike Brown purchased the truck and on the same day ownership was transferred to Mary Taylor. It was then deposited into an auto salvage yard in Williamstown,N.J.

It remained in the auto salvage yard until 1978 when the Horn family purchased the truck. It was then dismantled and stored until 1996 when restoration began. The restoration took a total of 6 years to complete.

The truck received it’s first Junior in 2004 in Ashboro,N.C. and the same year it’s senior at Hershey. The following year it received it received the Grand National award in Northglenn, Co.. In 2006 it received it’s Senior Grand National in Dover, De.
